General Strategy
John "the" K. Lin say:

1) The Art of BW is a state of mind.
2) Always be aware of your enemy's movements and his position along the tech tree.  Have constant recon using com sat scans, marine run ins, vultures, fly bys, etc.
3) Never attack without rendezvousing in front of an enemy's base.
4) If a front door defense is too strong, attempt to flank the enemy using drop ships or ranged units that can fire across borders.
5) Never trust an ally that does not assist in killing enemies.  Always keep a large amount of troops in your main base.
6) Never stop building troops.  Before attacking, build five troops on each troop building station.
7) Always have scouts in the most high traffic areas.
8) Protect your flanks by having scouts around your perimeter.
9) Never allow an enemy to gain control of the center.
10) In an unlimited resources map, do not limit oneself to one mine.  Expansion is the most important element in the late game.

Terran:

Opening: Quickly send the opening 4 SCVs  to 4 different mineral patches and build your fifth and sixth SCV.  Send the two to collect minerals.  With the seventh SCV build a barracks next to the command center.  The eighth SCV will build a supply depot close to the barracks.  Use the SCV that built the barracks to build a bunker behind the barracks.  This bunker protects from the zerg and protoss rush.  If the bunker is under attack, use SCVs that are collecting minerals to repair the bunker.   At 15 supplies build a refinery and supply depot.  Send a marine using way points (right click an area you want to move to and hold shift while right click the other places) to scout for the enemy ASAP.

Fire Bomb: This strategy is a devastating sneak attack/front door back door move involving 8 fire bats with stim packs, a drop ship, and the Comsat add-on to the command center.  First, build an academy as soon as you have enough minerals and two refiners up, as soon as the academy is finished, build fire bats and research stim packs.  A second barracks should be built in order to build fire bats quickly.  A factory should be built at 26 supplies.  Once the factory is complete, get a machine shop to research siege mode and a star port.  When the Star port is complete, get a control tower.  Continuously, build tanks marines; scv’s and fire bats.  Select 8 fire bats and hit control 1 to number the fire bats.  Build a drop ship from the Star port after the control tower is complete.  Load the fire bats into the drop ship and set up in close proximity to the enemy’s border.  Scan to make sure there are no sunken colonies, bunkers, or photon cannons next to the opponent’s hatchery, nexus, or command center.  If you see the coast is clear, drop the 8 fire bats in between the enemy’s minerals and nexus/command center/hatchery.  Once the enemy sends troops to destroy the fire bats attack his front side with about 3 tanks and 12-24 marines.  This move does not work if the enemy has a cannon/bunker/sunken next to their nexus/command center/hatchery.  Also, it helpful to send out a wraith to patrol the flight path before sending the dropship.

Tank Push: The strategy requires 12-24 marines and 3-6 siege tanks with siege mode.  First, set up tanks within shooting range of the enemy’s troops/defense.  Use marines to protect tanks from troops.  Keep moving tanks forward slowly with marines to take out enemy defenses.  After enemy defenses are destroyed move all troops in.

Plateau Tank Move:  In big game hunters, the bottom right and top left positions have a small plateau that can carry 2-1 siege tanks.  Put siege tanks on those plateaus and you can destroy the enemy’s nexus/hatchery/command center and collectors.  The enemy cannot defend against this unless they have projectile units.  (The move is less effective if the enemy has detection in the corner.

_

Quick Wraith Strike:  This move involves 5-8 wraiths.  First of all, you need sufficient front door protection; two bunkers and 3-5 tanks will work.  Only one barracks is needed and a factory + 2 star ports need to be built fast.   Scan the enemy’s base before you engage with the wraiths.  Move the wraiths behind the enemy’s minerals.  Once you have shot up the collectors attempt to destroy the enemy’s nexus/command center/ hatchery.  To finish the enemy, tank push with any marines and tanks you have.

_

Tanks and Wraiths:  First, drop ship 2-4 tanks into the enemy’s base.  Send 6-8 wraiths behind enemy’s minerals.  Siege the tanks.  The enemy will only be able to attack the tanks only or the wraiths only…

_

Mad Marine Rush:  This strategy is very simple.  Build 4-6 barracks and continuously make marines, supplies, and scv’s.  When you have 40-60 marines attack the enemy.  This strategy is more effective if you build an academy, get both upgrades, and build an engineering bay to get upgrades.

40 Marine Drop:  Build 5-drop ships and 40 marines.  Drop the marines into the enemy’s base.

Tanks and Goliaths:  Build 4-6 factories.  Use half of them to build tanks and half to build goliaths.  When attacking just send them in and siege the tanks at any time.

Protoss:

Opening:  Quickly send the 4 probes that you are given in the beginning to 4 different mineral patches and build your fifth probe.  Send the fifth probe to collect minerals.  Build a sixth probe ASAP.  Send that sixth probe to collect minerals, and pull it off of minerals once you have 100 minerals and build a pylon next to nexus.  Send the sixth probe back to collect minerals.  Build a seventh probe.  Send the seventh probe to collect minerals.  Once you have 150 minerals send a probe to build a forge.  After the forge is complete build a photon cannon with the eighth probe.   Send the eighth probe back to collect minerals.  Build a ninth probe to build a second photon cannon and send it back to collect minerals.  Build a tenth probe to build a gateway and a second pylon.  With an eleventh probe build another gateway.

      _

Zealot Rush:  First of all, scout for the enemies with a probe using way points (look at terran opening for way points).  Continuously build probes, zealots, and pylons.  Get a third gateway at 25 supplies.  Once you have 8-12 zealots attack the weaker enemy.

Dragoon Rush:  Build a cybernetics core and assimilator(s).  Get a third gateway ASAP.  Once you have enough gas and minerals research the dragoon range upgrade at the cybernetics core.  Continuously build dragoons, probes, and pylons.  When you have about 24, it should work well unless your opponent has tanks.

Zealots and Dragoons:  In the beginning of the game, build zealots, and once you have enough minerals and gas, build a cybernetics core.  Once the cybernetics core is complete, build dragoons in half of your gateways.  4-8 gateways will work well.

Dragoons and Reavers:  Reavers make a very nice addition to dragoons, in huge frontal attacks, bring reavers with dragoons, the reavers can help take out defenses and enemy troops.

Zealot and Templar:  Build only zealots with the leg attachments and templars with psionic storm.  PSI storm enemy troops with the templars, after the all the templar energy is used, morph them into archons.

Fast Carrier:  When doing this strategy, do not build any ground troops. Only 1 gateway is needed.  For defense, have templars and approximately 8-10 photon cannons in the front door.  Get a cybernetics core quickly.  Build about 3-4 star gates and a fleet beacon.  6-12 carriers are needed for effective attacks.  In long games, get arbiters and upgrade shields and armor in the cybernetics core.

Reaver Drop:  Build a cybernetics core quickly.  When the cybernetics core is complete, build a robotics facility.  Once the robotics facility is complete, build a robotics support bay, while a shuttle is building in the robotics facility.  Build 2 reavers ASAP.  Drop the reavers into your opponent’s mineral collection space.  (This strategy is not very effective if your opponent has air)

Zerg:

Opening#1:  Send your first 4 drones to 4 different mineral patches.   Send your overlord to scout for the enemy.  Once you have 150 minerals, use one of your first drones to build a spawning pool.  Build a drone at 50 minerals.  Scout or collect minerals with that drone.  As soon as the spawning pool is finished, build six zerglings and attack your enemy, preferably their mineral collectors.  During the attack build 2-3 sunken colonies.

Opening#2:  Send your first 4 drones to 4 different mineral patches and build 1 drone.  Send your overlord to scout.  Collect minerals with that fifth drone.  Build a spawning pool at 150 minerals.  Build two drones while you are building a spawning pool.  Build 6 zerglings ASAP and attack the enemy.

_

Opening#3:  Send your first 4 drones to 4 different mineral patches and build 1 drone.  Send your overlord to scout.  Collect minerals with that fifth drone.  Build another drone at 50 minerals.  Send that sixth drone to collect minerals.  Build a seventh drone once you have 50 minerals.  Send it to collect minerals.  At 150 minerals, pull one drone off and build a spawning pool.  Build another drone at 50 minerals.  With that drone, build a creep colony.  Once the spawning pool is complete, morph that creep colony into a sunken.  Build another overlord and continuously build drones.  Get an extractor ASAP.

Zerglings and Hydras:  Build 3-6 extra hatcheries and continuously build drones hydras and zerglings.  Get all available upgrades for zerglings and hydras.  When attacking send in zerglings first.

_

Mad Zerglings:  Build 3-6 extra hatcheries and build only zerglings.  Build spore colonies to protect from air.  Quickly build all necessary structures
to upgrade to hive.  Research zergling speed, and adrenal gland.  Once an army of approximatly 50-70 has been assembled, attack.  Never send
zerglings in a straight line, however.

Hydra Drop:  Build lots of hydralisks with all upgrades.  Get a lair and get the overlord speed upgrade and ventral sacs.  Load up about 24-40 hydras and drop them into a clear spot in someone’s base.

Zergling Drop:  Build lots of zerglings with all upgrades.  Get a lair and get the overlord speed upgrade and ventral sacs.  Load up about 40-80 zerglings and drop them into a clear spot in someone’s base.

Zerglings and Defilers:  Build lots of zerglings with all upgrades.  Get a hive and build a defiler mound.  Research consume.  When attacking the enemy, shoot dark swarm over enemy defenses and send in the zerglings.  No projectile weapons can hurt the zerglings except tanks.

Muta’s and Zerglings:  Build lots of zerglings and mutalisks.  Send them at the same time against an enemy.  Zerglings distract enemy troops while mutalisks destroy and vice versa.

Fast Muta’s:  Get 8-12 sunken colonies.  Upgrade your hatchery to lair.  Get a spire quickly and build 10-24 mutalisks.  Send the mutalisks to your enemy’s mineral collection space and destroy his collectors.

Guardians and Muta’s:  Morph 8-12 guardians and have 12-24 left over mutalisks.  When attacking the enemy protect your guardians with mutalisks.
